RECYCLED CASHMERE
To avoid further desertification in Mongolia and Northern China and to create a more sustainable sourcing strategy around cashmere, we embrace recycling to regenerate the vast amounts of cashmere we have already created over the past 20 years. Where possible we rather recycled materials. Not only do they use significantly less water, electricity, chemicals, and carbon, but they also use waste, rather than creating it. Our proprietary blend of recycled cashmere & organic cotton is made in Italy and is certified by the Global Recycled Standard. All of our cashmere yarns are made to the highest standard, while protecting workers rights.
CRADLE TO CRADLE CASHMERE
All our air spun, tissue weight cashmere is finished in Italy and certified by Cradle to Cradle ensuring the yarn is sourced and finished responsibly using transparent and regenerative farming practices.
ORGANIC COTTON
99% of the world’s cotton is conventional cotton, meaning it relies heavily on the use of chemicals including pesticides, herbicides, insecticides and synthetic fertilizers, alongside genetically modified seeds and huge amounts of water. We certify our cotton with GOTS, the Global Organic Textile Standard. This means that all cotton yarns certified by GOTS must contain a minimum of 95% organic cotton and cannot be treated with chlorine bleach, formaldehyde or other toxic chemicals and metals. Additionally, strict social standards must be adhered to, ensuring that working conditions are safe & hygienic, and that fair living wages are paid to employees.
FSC VISCOSE
Viscose is a semi-synthetic material made from wood pulp. Our viscose is certified by the Forest Stewardship Council ensuring the wood pulp used to make our viscose comes from well managed, regenerated forests. Each year an estimated 400 million cubic meters of wood comes from FSC-certified forests. The rigorous standards behind FSC certification protect the plants, animals and people that rely on those forests.
We certify the majority of our Italian merino wool sweaters, trousers and blazers using the Responsible wool Standard. RWS certifies that our wool comes from animals that are well treated, from land that is well managed, mitigating damage to soil and improving biodiversity and that all people handling the wool are treated fairly and paid a fair living wage.
